Semantica e pragmatica della particella hindi/urdu TO nel contesto dell'italiano
Résumé
The paper deals with the Hindi/Urdu particle TO. The main objective of the paper is not to present a full account of various semantico-pragmatic aspects of this particle, but rather to investigate different ways of rendering it in the Italian language. The particle TO mainly has two functions: firstly, it is used to introduce the consequent in a conditional sentence and secondly, it is employed to attach some pragmatic scalar value to any lexical item precending it. It is, of course, not at all easy to give an overall account in Italian of the second type of function. This paper is an attempt at finding ways of rendering this particle in Italian.
