Résumé

While socialist realism is a « creative method » whose formal definition remains very problematic, its parodical counter-models allow us to outline, in a negative way, the contours of its aesthetics existing as a canonical model in the minds of the writers of post-stalinist generation. The subversive parodies of Yuz Aleshkovkii and later of Victor Pelevin bringing to absurdity the postulates of socialist realism, cult imitation of the last « great style » of the XXth century by Vladimir Sorokin, or else methods of decontextualization of predominant discourse in the works of Sergei Dovlatov are also the procedures of inversion that reveal the modes of functioning of socialist realism questioning its « literarity » to better send it off to the sphere of « kitsch ». In other words, the notion of « the false » as an independent value elevated to the rank of an object of art is relatively close to that of « poshlost’ » existing in the Russian culture. Therefore the parody of socialist realism fulfils a special function. With rare exceptions, it denies its natural vocation - to be a factor of evolution and manifestations of cultural heritage. It does not aspire to be a parody-filiation whose objective would be to replace the out-dated forms by new ones but a liberating act par excellence that integrates into its object only to better expulse it from the literary domain.
